The HTUK team is a small budding operation, led by Shalini Ajoodha and entirely dependent on volunteer time and donations across the country. Shalini joined HT as country coordinator in 2009 after being closely involved in the activities and organisations of Neale Donald Walsch and other movements focused on peace, philanthropic and personal development, through which she met many of the volunteers who closely support and contribute to the movement. At the time she was asked to take on HTUK she was already balancing a full time job with full time voluntary commitments in addition to her own self-employed interests. She finds varying degrees of heaven in her ultra busy world simply by being of service and there are few things more important to her than making a positive difference to the lives around her (though she self-admits to not always getting it right). A dabbling humanitarian she seeks to improve the world, and knows that Humanitys Team is one of many vehicles that will help achieve this. She feels that HT is making a significant contribution to the world at large and that Oneness is a key ingredient to attaining world peace, in her words, each person who "experiences Oneness gains an inner capacity to deal with everything life brings them, they experience an innate almost natural sense of peace, and that peace like the budding seeds of a lotus flower, grows almost seamlessly, expanding outwards it gently shares its beauty with all who choose to see it, now imagine what might happen if we take that energy of peace into educating our children, into politics and the financial industry amongst others, just imagine..." No stranger to pain either, her heart lurches each time she is faced with another story of sorrow and feels it is her personal duty to do whatever she can to contribute - physically, spiritually, emotionally and materially to working towards a world that experiences more joy than it does pain. It is her vision to work with many other spiritual movements to strengthen their own outreach through her vast network of contacts and grow Global Oneness Day, a day which simply cannot be overlooked in the UK, to international acclaim.
